John Bennion, DDS, MD
I am an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. I have a dental degree and practiced general dentistry after graduating from dental school at the University of Nebraska. After three years I returned to school and received an MD degree and completed a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery. I am licensed in both medicine and dentistry and board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I have practiced in Billings for thirty three years. My practice included the full scope of oral surgery including facial trauma, reconstructive surgery, pathology, extractions and dental implants. The implant practice grew to be one of the largest in Montana.
One of the most satisfying parts of my practice has been the ability to offer the full range of oral surgery services from the very high end with implants and complete restoration of patients’ smile and function to the very simple treatments like extracting teeth that are beyond repair and are causing great pain. I have worked with the Donated Dental Services throughout my time in practice to donate my services to patients who do not have the financial ability to pay. For my entire time in practice I have been a provider for Medicaid to make my services available to patients who are struggling to make ends meet.
My two greatest joys are my family, and then my work. I have a confession to make. I am at times embarrassed to admit that I live on a golf course, but I don’t golf. I live in Montana, and love Montana, but I don’t hunt and I don’t ski. We have raised six children who have brought us great happiness over the years. And now we have grandchildren ranging from nearly one year old to college juniors. Now they fill our house with the same sounds of laughter, playing and chaos that their parents did years ago.
One of our favorite ways to relaxation is spending time in our little cabin on the Boulder River. The sounds of the river in front of our cabin and the wind blowing through the pine trees rejuvenate us. We balance our time working to maintain the area around our cabin and relaxing, reading and enjoying the beauty of the surroundings.
With this new practice our goal is to combine our skills and experience to bring the surgical, restorative and laboratory portions of our patient care under one roof. We believe that by using the most advanced technology along with our experience we will be able to deliver to our patients the highest quality of care available anywhere in the world at a reasonable price.
Dr. Ryan Boswell
I am a dentist and have practiced general dentistry after graduating from the University of Iowa. Following graduation, I worked with different orphanages in Northern China. Upon my return, I began to practice in community health, working with patients in need, including patients from Burma, Syria, Eritrea, Democratic Republic of Congo and Iraq, as well as underserved children and adults in Central Iowa and Western Montana. Following my service with the National Health Service Corps, I began to work in private practice fulfilling the needs of Montanans of Missoula County and Toole County. I have always strived to be the best dentist I can be, continuing my education and providing the best removable, restorative, endodontic and oral surgery possible.
One of the most satisfying aspects of my profession is to be able to see the work of my hands, to take a patient who isn’t happy with their smile, is experiencing discomfort or simply needs care and to be able to serve them and send them on their way smiling. I have continued to accept Medicaid my entire career and strive to provide care for everyone.
When I’m not attending to patients, I enjoy spending time with my family, my brothers (who are both dentists), and my dog, Luna. I love fly fishing, camping, horseback riding, hiking, skiing, traveling and exploring the great state of Montana.
